BUZZY
Buzzy and Family   Truman

Hi everyone!

I'm sorry it has taken so long for me to write to you guys to thank you for rescuing me but I've just been having too much fun with my new family. As you can see from my picture I have a sister bulldog whose name is Sullivan and a brand, new sister to the family whom mom and dad named Brady (she's the one who is sitting on me in picture #2!). I've calmed down a lot now that I have a family and a yard to run around in with Sullivan. We sure do love to chase around those tennis balls I got for Christmas!

I only bark now when I'm not sure if it's dad coming in the door (I have to protect my new family y'know) and just cannot get enough attention from visitors. I follow mom and dad around wherever they go in the house to see if I can help with anything but mostly so they'll give me another backscratch or drop some food. I also try and sneak into mom and dad's bed every night around 3am but usually get caught and put back on the floor. It's just so warm up there that I can't help myself.

I also get to go on a lot of trips with Sullivan and my family and love splashing around the tide pools in Myrtle Beach. I'm having a blast and thank my lucky stars every day that the LCGRR rescued me and gave me a 2nd chance. Thanks guys!

Lots of love,

Buzzy

TRUMAN
Truman

Hi Linda,

These pictures are LONG overdue!  I wanted to show you how Truman is doing....we're just crazy about him!  I have a picture of him with each member of our family, snoozing on his bed and playing in the snow.  I can't believe how quickly he entered our lives, what an impact he made in a very short period of time and how much we all love him.  It's almost like he's always been here!  He really is a joy.  Thank you for making the connection!

Elizabeth

TuckerTucker

Hello Patsy & Julie,
I hope all is good with the both of you and your gearing up for a busy holiday week with friends and family. Boy did this holiday come quick!!   I thought I would send some pictures to you of Tucker as he has grown quite a bit.

Today he had his first venture with snow and boy did he go wild!!!  He absolutely loved it to say the least.  You will see he is quite a ham and loves the camera.  I hope you enjoy them and I will send some additional photos as the holiday get into full swing.   I hope you both have a wonderful holiday,  Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!

All the best,
Doreen, John & Tucker

MADDIE

Dear Patsy,

Maddie is doing great. We have our routines. Maddie likes to get up about 7am and we go for a walk on the beach. It's a great time to go, b/c it's not too crowded at that time. Plus, lots of folks are out walking their doggies at that time of the morning. And we need to go early, because there are no dogs allowed on the beach in the summer between 10am to 5pm. We also go often at night when I get home from work. She has lost 6 pounds since her vet visit on 4/23. My vet said that he wouldn't mind her losing a couple more pounds. I don't think that will be hard to do with her walks and runs on the beach. I am the happiest person in the world now that I have her, and I just hope and pray that she is just as happy. I promise to mail the photographs soon.

Much love, Bonnie

ANDY
Andy

Andy is living a happy life of leisure! His family including Frank (his daddy), Tina (his mommy) and the 2 boys, Austin (7) and Alex (4 1/2) love him like crazy. Andy's favorite activity is jumping in the pond in front of our house to retrieve nerf balls and frisbees. Of course his 2 daily walks are a complete blast, and he's got a huge fenced-in yard to run in with the family. He's as sweet and affectionate as can be, and we're very lucky to have him as part of our family.

Thank you
Tina Tartaglia

LUNA
Luna

Hey Patsy,

I just wanted to give you an update on Luna. We are completely smitten! She is doing great. She has fully healed from her surgery, and has met lots of dogs and people. Everyone loves her! They all comment on how soft she is, and what a sweet demeanor she has. Matt and I took her up to Lake Keowee this past weekend, and she had a great time. She loved playing with his parent's lab, Tucker, and she loved going on hikes and playing in the water. It's dog heaven up there! We have enrolled her in obedience classes at PetSmart, and she is the sweetest dog in the class. She sits pretty consistently, and we are working on loose leash walking and "come". Hopefully those are soon to follow :) I've attached a few pictures for you. The first is after we had her groomed - she is sitting on our porch looking out over the field. That is her favorite place to hang out at home. The others are from this past weekend at the lake.   We are enjoying her so much - I can't tell you how much we love her! Matt's parents have taken to calling her their grand-dog, and love her to death :)

I hope you are doing well and enjoying this beautiful weather!

GRACIE
Gracie

Dear Diane and friends,

Thank you so much for having Gracie become part of our family.  Rescuing Gracie was the best thing we have done.   After the loss of our 2-year-old lab in May our home was very quiet.  We knew it was time to bring another dog into our home but how were we going to do it.  After seeing all the sick dogs, including ours in the hospital we knew we needed to do the right thing and rescue.  So our mission began.  We searched for several weeks and nothing happened, but just as I was giving up, Diane from the rescue came through for us.  Being that we did not live in South Carolina, Diane arranged for the local rescue in our town to come and do a home visit.  With that being said the adoption became final and we made arrangements to bring home Gracie.   Gracie has been with us since October and we love every minute with her.  She is a true blessing in our lives.  She has a great personality that fits in with our children.  Gracie was given her name from her original owner.  We kept her name as “Gracie” in respect for her owner.  We knew by looking at her how special she was and she was probably given that name for a reason.  So, her name remains “Gracie.” She lives up to her name everyday!!   Every pet brings a special joy into your life but Gracie has given us so much, love, affection and loyalty.  She is one of a kind.   We are so thankful to all that you have given us.    Gracie loves the car and will be joining us on her first camping trip in April.  I am sure she will love it.  I hope that anyone in need of a companion finds his or her way to a rescue.  It is a wonderful way to spread hope and love.

Sincerely, Teresa, Brian and girls

HANNAH
Hannah and Mayzee

Hi,

We thought you like to see Hannah & her friend Mayzee, both settling in to their new home together. They both enjoy the beach, local dog parks and this warm weather! Thank you for introducing us to Hannah ...

HOUSER
Houser

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to touch base and give everybody an update on Houser. He is doing fantastic!! It has almost been one year since we found each other. It seems like just yesterday him and I made our first road trip together from Charleston to the Panhandle. He has been the greatest part of my life. I don't know what I did before him. He allergies are much better. And he has learned so many new things. The "old dog" loves learning "new tricks." His favorite thing right now is the "roll over." His confidence has soared through roof. There are times I am shocked that he is nine years old. He has the playfulness of a four year old, but definitely the manners of an older gentleman.  I want to thank everyone so much for Houser. I feel so incredibly lucky spend everyday with him. He is just the love of my life!!

Much Love,
Lulu and Houser

LEX
Lex

Dear Glenda, We have been wanting to send in a picture for a while and really have never gotten around to it.  My husband and I rescued our little Lex two years ago this February.  We adopted our little golden with a bit of reluctance from myself, but he has definitely become our pride and joy.  He has to be one of the most spoiled goldens as he gets to go to work with his daddy most days and then other days gets to spend the day with his mommy when I am off.  Lex (short for Lexington) is so loyal and is the highlight of my day when I come home from work.  I want to take this short time to attach a picture and say thank you for bringing such joy into our life.  You all are doing such great work.

JOEY
Joey

Hello Friends!

My boyfriend and I were the family who had the pleasure of adopting Joey. This guy is full of life and love. He has a 4 year old Yellow Lab brother, Auggie, who he loves to get into trouble with. Whether he is playing keep away with the stick or splashing around in the James Island Dog Park Pond or our pool he is always having a great time. He gives kisses to everyone that crosses his path, we have nicknamed him the "Kissing Bandit".   I knew from the moment I laid eyes on Joey in front of the Coldstone Creamery at the James Island "meet and greet" that he was the dog for us! Thank you LCGRR, from our family to yours!

Tommy, Kyndele, Auggie and Joey

ABBIE

We are the family who adopted Abbie.  She has definitely become the third member of the family!  She loves to be outdoors, loves her long twice-daily walks.  On her daily trip to the dog park, she has learned that chasing and racing around can be fun activities with her new pals.  Even retrieving a tennis ball has its rewards.  She also loves any and all bodies of water-lagoons, marsh, wading pools, even if she isn’t supposed to be there.  Recently, she completed a training program and she-and her new family-have learned to communicate better, and learn the manners that have earned her many smiles and pats around the neighborhood.  I can’t imagine life without her now, and I’m sorry we waited so long to adopt such an adoring sweetheart!  Thank you for the work you do.

LILAH
Lilah

Lilah is doing great. She is such a very sweet sweet girl.  She is the most loving and affectionate dog there is. She sleeps with us in the bed at night and then she will sit at my feet throughout the day. She loves to play ball and is starting to do well walking too. She still does not like to ride in the car and hates to go to other places. I guess she just thinks that we are going to take her somewhere and I keep telling her that we are her forever home. We love her so much already. We can't thank yall enough for everything. You have the best organization and we would love to help behind the scenes. Please please please let us help in any way yall need.

Thank you so much again for Lilah. she is the sweetest thing and thanks for your kind note as well.

SNICKERS
Snickers  Sinckers

Thank you for letting us adopt Snickers - we had such a wonderful experience through your organization, and look forward to many wonderful years with our new puppy!  He is unbelievably good with the kids. - although he seems to think that Caroline (our two year old) is a puppy since she's about his height (don't worry; she can hold her own!).

Thank you for everything!

Heather
